Amelie Mauresmo, who hasn’t played any tournament since losing at the US Open, announced on her website that she has withdrawn from
inz and Luxembourg and ended her 2009 season.
The former world number 1 also said she is considering to retire but she is still thinking about it.
“Since I came back from the U.S. Open, I have been trying to practice but I did not find the desire to get back to competition. I do not want to rush things. I still give myself some time before making a decision regarding the remainder of my career.” Amelie said.
Mauresmo has had a great carrer, she won 25 single titles including Wimbledon and the Australian Open. She also reached the number 1 in the WTA rankings in September 2004.
